Royal Oak Leprechauns Sponsor Parade

With roots in the Irish Hills of Michigan, the Leprechauns played ball for close to a decade in Irish Hills, and also at Siena Heights University. With years of planning and finally the support from an angel sponsor — New York Yankees second basemen DJ LeMahieu — the Leprechauns had the proper support system to move to a prime-time location at 13 Mile Road and Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Moving east to Royal Oak was no easy feat as it required planning with the city and a commitment from staff, board and fans. Royal Oak, which has been a hometown community of many of the Leprechauns staff and players, was the perfect landing place for the team.

Memorial Park became the ideal location, but it needed an immense amount of renovations. The park, where many kids have grown up playing tournaments, and a place where community members have enjoyed the adjacent city park and Woodward Dream Cruise festivities, needed a proper facelift that could bring back the history and class that this location has historically held.

The Royal Oak Leprechauns worked with DJ LeMahieu and the city of Royal Oak to completely transform this park before the move was even announced. They installed new sound equipment, dugouts, sidewalks, fencing and state-of-the-art infield turf, along with a new digital scoreboard in left field, provided by DJ LeMahieu.
